On May nine I launched this design having a sudden inspiration I started my design from the photo in the header. Four days later Dave Shea writes about [color schemes](http://www.mezzoblue.com/archives/ 2004/05/14/colour_schem/) He gives examples on how to make a color set from selecting them form nature pictures.
In my case I like the color blue, all my designs have been blueish. So when I was looking for a photo to use in my new design I choose the surfer on the beach. From this photo I selected the colors and then adjusted them to be screen safe.
In the first column you can see the original colors and in the second column the adjusted colors. Ninety percent of my colors are nature except for the orange color which comes from the surfers board short. Not being a person who draws an extensive design on paper first and then works weeks on a design this is my way. This new design I made in one day and since then I’ve been fine tuning it. Since today I consider it mostly done and hopefully I’ll keep it for the rest of the year.
I felt cool when a couple of days later I read that Dave also uses the same method. I do have some design sense after all.
