Euro Cup feverJune 25th, 2004

I always liked the World Cup even if Iím not a regular football fan. Since living in Holland the Euro Cup is then next best thing to watch. All Dutch knew Holland was really bad and had to do their ultimate best to qualify. As they played 3 games they got better which each one. For myself I decided I would support one latin country (Italy, Portugal or Spain) and Holland.

Todays game of Portugal vs. England was great, the way the portuguese players move around with ball is so different than other teams. I like their fake move, yesterday I was getting mad at the Dutch for making to predicable moves. The keeper Ricardo was so cool in the end, how he stopped that ball with his bare hands. And made the winning goal, with was a very close one. Just before Beckham kicked the ball I thought there is no way Ricardo can hold that ball and wham ball goes way over the goal post. It was a great match, both team played excellent and it was very exciting to watch.

Now if Holland wins from Sweden Iíll have to choose who Iím going to support. I think Iíll go with Holland, when they play itís total football atmosphere here, everyone in orange all excited for the big game.

When you are not a die hard fan, football is quit fun to watch. But I can imagine that for a true fan it must be a pain to see their team go home. So here an example on how fun watching sport can be if keeping things lite.

Midnight momentumsJune 23rd, 2004

We all get those night when it is very silent you’ve got no sleep and nothing to do. You look through the window and is deserted outside. You decide to put some music, in my case I go for mellow/sad music like:

  • 3 AM (piano acoustic) – Matchbox Twenty
  • Hotel California (acoustic) – The Eagles
  • Always (acoustic) – Jon Bon Jovi

On those night I feel like I’m the only person on earth. I started browsing through my photo’s looking for a winter photo that would fit my mood.

Tree reflects

I must say sometimes I like these quit moments when I can relax and think about life. Mostly I start remembering stuff from the past that I have totally forgotten. So instead of getting frustrated I enjoy those midnight momentums, if they become too much I just pop in a “Friends” DVD to lighten things up.
