And another show ends…
May 20th, 2007Last week was the series finale of “Gilmore Girls”. I loved that show, the mother/daughter relationship, the fictional small town: Stars Hollow. Luke and Luke’s Dinner and all the quirky town people. The dialogue is always entertaining, Lauren Graham did an excellent job of playing Lorelai Gilmore for seven years. Shame she never even got nominated for an Emmy.
Everytime one of my favorite shows ends it feels like the end of an era, “Buffy”, “Friends”, “Sex and the City”, “Everwood” and now “Gilmore Girls”. Each time I think that shows get crappier with newer shows. But then they come with Grey’s Anatomy which I love watching and recently I started watching Heroes which is nice but I’m not fully into it yet. But now that “Gilmore Girls” is gone there are no more feel good family theme shows left with drama and comedy.
At least “Grey’s Anatomy” ended in a way that next season all options are wide open. So there is plenty to be expected to happen. And I hope they keep up with the great music selection for each episode. This season I really liked: “Love Will Come Through” by Travis, “Gabriel and the Vagabond” by Foy Vance and “The Story” by Brandi Carlile.
And last “Lost”, boy I’m glad I don’t watch that one. With three seasons more to go before the mysteries are solved. I rather wait for the whole on DVD so I can watch it without going crazy each season break.
So you can see I love TV shows and of course books. Already got “Harry Potter” last book reserved for coming July 21.
