Daily stuffJune 13th, 2007

The first half of 2007 seems to have flown by. I’m turning 26 next month, just 4 years from 30, unbelievable. I was supposed to graduate this summer, but I asked for an extension till October. I started another dialyses method last month and it took much time, sleep and energy to adjust to it. But now I ‘dialysate’ at night during my sleep so during the day I don’t have to worry about it.

Sport

A few weeks back I played tennis again for the first time in ages. I had no idea if I would be able to, condition wise. But it went pretty well. The weather was not to hot so there wasn’t the issue of warmth fatigue. My strokes where pretty powerful for my strength. Lately it has been very rainy but as soon as the weather dries up I’m looking forward to playing again, maybe even on clay court which is more intense and fun.

The website

On the website front little has been done since the last big update in March. I have zero inspiration and its driving me nuts. I have started various template projects in Photoshop but all went quickly to the trash. I just can’t find ‘it’. Now I just write down my ideas instead of trying them out right away. I have two website ideas which I just want to make for practice for myself and for keeping data online. The first one is a website for renal patients at my hospital. Right now we get a paper newsletter once in a while via snail mail. So I thought it would be a good idea to create a website for patients to keep all the info about what is going on online. It is a challenge because the website must be usable and attractive for people of all ages and people with disabilities.

If I manage a nice concept I might even offer the hospital to see if they would like to make the website official. But for that I have to have a cost effective plan on how to cover the hosting and domain. And I guess I’ll maintain the website as charity work. Right now I just want to create as many as decent website possible for my own practice and portfolio.

The the second website will be smaller and will contain all info on the syndrome I was born with. It’s a very rare syndrome with barely any information about it online. All I know about it I got on print from the doctors. So I’ll make a website and put that info online and track from Google how much people search for it. And maybe meet more people with the same.

The food and leisure time

Considering I spend little productive time on the computer due to my total lack of inspiration I have been reading more and cooking. I found Simply Recipes a while back and have been trying some recipes out. Just today I made Parmesan Chicken, with came out quite nice for the first time. It’s more of a challenge also considering the recipes are based on products you don’t get here. So I improvise with all the recipes and change them a bit to my own taste. And now that the weather is warmer its BBQ time again. Last week I grilled some burgers and made some baked potatoes. Simple but delicious.

Doing this all gave me another idea for my website but for that I would need a Polaroid camera and a scanner and I have neither of those. I should look around for a second handed Polaroid camera, always wanted one. So you see, plenty of ideas, just need the drive and inspiration to produce them. And finally again I will promise myself to go out and take photos. I really want to go to the zoo again so lets hope I actually go too and take photos. Until then keep checking back…

Currently EnjoyingJune 7th, 2007

While browsing I came across this video clip of Ricky Martin, Jose Feliciano and Santana playing a mix of “Light my Fire”, “Oye Como Va” and “Guajira”. For those who don’t know, Jose Feliciano is blind but one of the best guitar players of Latin America.

Check out the those great riffs by Santana and Jose Feliciano.
