My life: 010
January 20th, 2010This year has started busy for me, not crazy busy like everyone is now a days. But I got things to do everyday and even on week-ends. I’m working freelance a few months now and besides a few small coding jobs it’s only now that the amount of work jumped. With that also the need to arrange paperwork and have everything in order with my medical benefit income.
Meanwhile I’m still looking for a steady job 20 hours a week. I like having a steady income and freelancing is having money if/when client pays. Now if you know me, my goal isn’t to become rich, although money is always welcome. For me it’s important to not always be working, I want to have free time to do anything I want. I don’t want to be constantly stressed about work. My health and state of mind are more important.
The good thing is I like what I do, of course all job comes with less fun parts. But there is a very small chance you”ll find me doing a job or project I don’t like. The satisfaction when finishing a project is always nice. Or to learn new things, surprising clients when managing to do more then they expected.
Also more recently I started writing over at Forever Geek. I never wrote for a third party weblog before nor with a fixed schedule. So this is a challenge for me one from which I do not shy away. It’s only by taking on challenges and pushing myself that I can grow and get better. And thanks to this I get the opportunity to do a high profile interview, nothing set in stone yet but I’m doing my research homework and thinking up good questions. Hopefully soon I will be able to successfully publish said interview.
On Aging
Today I realized I’m old, ok not old old but yeah old. Not only did I buy my first anti-wrinkle cream yesterday but today I saw the pilot episode of “Life Unexpected”. And when actors you saw in teen drama’s are now playing parents role it gets real. Off course more real is that your friends are or are getting married and have kids, have loans, etc. I guess it really screams of contrast to my own life. Not that I have much choice, my medical situation pretty much dictates choices I make.
I’m always the odd one out, not doing what everyone else is. Now if only I could think of some good books to read when I’m not pushing code and words!
waiting at the hospital to ask one simple question which I couldn't email since their spam filter has blocked my email.

I have a day job, and only recently, I have been offered freelance jobs developing websites for organizations and companies. It is something I really enjoy doing
Oh you know, they say that smiling can reduce wrinkles

I watch at least one comedy episode a day for laughs

Smiling actually creates wrinkles where there will be none –or little– otherwise. But I will trade a smile or laugh for a wrinkle, any time.

@David I totally agree with you on this one.
